The Sunday Muse #114

Greetings and salutations! Hoping this finds you well in the midst of chaos. I'm fascinated by roses, both in their formal florist setting and in their wilder, briar variety, so for my first prompt I thought I'd go with roses.

So, here we are: poof! Roses and verses. A magic trick I shall enjoy reading. :)

The Sunday Muse #113

Hi gang! Fireblossom here with a double dose for you this week. Both photographs are actual color (not colorized) photographs from 1908 and 1913 respectively. They were done using a process called Autochrome Lumiere. I thank my BFF Hedgewitch for turning me on to them.

Choose either image for your poetic inspiration and write a poem, link up and link back, visit, enjoy!

Sunday Muse #108

Hello Muse people! Here is your weekly image to inspire your writing. Look, mull, write, link, visit! The image is the Aztec Theater in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Once a grand movie palace with full faux Aztec decor inside including ornate pillars, by the time I lived there it was a bargain movie house called the Aztec 3 because it was divided into three theaters. By the time I visited some years later, it was closed. However, I understand that it is being used once again, as a venue for concerts and whatnot. I'm glad the old girl has found new love.

You, of course, may take the image in any (poetic) direction you like!

Sunday Muse # 91

Hello Sunday Muse folk! Fireblossom here with your weekly picture prompt. This week I've selected a bottle tree. In old southern tradition, hanging bottles from a tree is intended to catch or confuse negative spirits. They are said either to be caught inside the bottles and live there, or if blue bottles are used, these confuse the spirits into thinking it is water where they'll drown or sky where they'll lose their way. No matter which, bottle trees protect the person living there from negative influences.

Of course, we like things loosey goosey around here, and you are free to write anything that the image brings to mind--it doesn't have to have anything to do with what I've described above. So go and capture something poetic, then  link, visit, have fun!
