Good morning y'all and happy writing everyone!
ReplyDeleteThe wind scrubs the windows
ReplyDeletewith steel wool torn from SOS skies
stripping what we told ourselves
was silvering, the lining
of clouds we said were mirrors
of hopefulness
to see ourselves clothed
in this rain
instead of winter
now two sizes
too small
Mayday! Mayday!
DeleteA "Brillo" pad of words
Deletemy windows today are scrubbed clean
to sunshine and the songs of birds
tomorrow could be cloudy again
and who knows what I might pen
"Mayday! Mayday!" That. Is. Brilliant.
DeleteTrudessa -- so glad. Cleared up a bit here too! But now I don't have glum poem material to scrub.
DeleteYou had me at that first amazing line Qbit....leading us right into a perfect close of thought! I feel I can relate to that last line in so many ways! Always a pleasure to see you here Qbit!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! But now I have to do the work of writing *another* poem to link. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou are either prolific or a glutton for punishment LOL Looking forward to the next one too Qbit!
DeleteThere is also failing miserably at poem #2. I'm still hacking at it, but aweful.
DeleteExcellent prompt photo find, Carrie. The single tree caught me first. Then in order I found a large man's or monster's hand, the ceramic mask on the dresser, and finally it was a dresser and not a hallway table. I missed more I'm sure, mostly I find what I want to see.
ReplyDeleteI found most of these before I wrote, good. One excuse for missing things is that my computer has been broken since last September, bad. I'll take it to Fry's, maybe, when Houston is safer from COVID 19.
..
..
Glad you like it Jim and sorry to hear about your computer. Hope you get it fixed soon.
DeleteHello Carrie and all Sunday Muse people!
ReplyDeleteHey Shay! 🤩🦋
DeleteAccidentally deleted your comment ... agree, way too much emphasis on external beauty which is fleeting. In a tizzy right now .. my former husband who has remained special in my life and who has a wife I love ~~ her 28 year old niece was murdered in a Minneapolis suburb ... husband in custody. A tragic situation for everyone who loved and cherished her.
DeleteThat has to have been a tragedy for the whole family but what a blessing that you are close with your former husband and his new wife. You have a big beautiful heart Helen!
DeleteSo many directions to take with the photography ... I may submit another tomorrow because TODAY is Saturday, Helen!
ReplyDeleteYou are right Helen, and I do hope you will return with another poem! I always love your poetry!
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie! I've finally found your prompt, which I've been wanting to join for a while. Thank you for an inspirational image this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are here Kim! I look forward to reading your poetry!
DeleteI will be out of pocket for a long while today but promise to be making more rounds this evening. 🌻😎
ReplyDeleteThis photo had my mind wandering in many directions but, in the end the tree is the heart that beats within the frames of life.
ReplyDeleteThe tree spoke to me as well Truedessa. I look forward to reading yours.
DeleteThis image worked wonders for my recalcitrant muse, Carrie. Thanks for posting it, and I will be back to read and comment. Please note, several of you with Word Press blogs will find my comments in your spam folder.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like it Joy. It is always wonderful to have you join us!
DeleteThis reminds me of Rose Madder — how she enters and exits that painting.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cool image, and I had not even thought of it like in that way. Thank you for that. Glad you joined us!!
DeleteAmazing photo/art. I'll be back to feast on the poetry it inspired. I admit I took an easy route today, but the rhyme simply would not go away.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you joined us Susan! I loved yours and the beautiful thoughts it brought to mind! Yes the image is an intriguing one for sure.
