Sunday Muse #259

Hello, my dear friends from near & far, as always, I am so glad you are here. I wanted to take the time to let you all know that next week will be our last week for the Muse. I know this comes as a surprise to many of you, but I am giving you a couple weeks to soak it all in.  The last few years have been a wonderful journey of writing and sharing and having you all choose to be a part of it has been a true blessing to me! To the other hosts and originators, Chrissa & Shay I want you both to know that a large part of it's success was because of you two, and I want to thank you both for the beautiful presence you provided here my friends! Each and every one of you muse writers out there have inspired me with your friendship, loyalty, and your amazing talent.  I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

   ๐Ÿ’—Carrie

Now let’s get to this week’s images.

  1. Dear Carrie, thank you for this wonderful site, the inspiration, and the friendly space you created here. I did not come as often as I might have, but it was good to know you were here with other familiar poets we have known through the years. Thank you to Shay and Chrissa too, for their wonderful contributions. The Muse will be missed, but hopefully you will still be writing. I understand very well how much work and energy it takes to keep a site going and wish you all the very best as you journey on.

    1. Thank you so much Sherry. You have been a beautiful presence here as well my friend, and your appreciation is one of the many blessings of being the host for the Muse. I will be writing and I will definitely be visiting your blog to read your lovely poetry. I look forward to reading your contribution this week. Yes the deer picture really captivated me too!

  3. Thank you Carrie for keeping The Sunday Muse an ongoing quality visual prompt site. I am broken hearted to see you wrap up, but I understand. I published 2 different prompt sites over the years, and I know how taxing they can be. I will miss your excellent site. Maybe someone will pick up the baton, and a visual prompt site will continue somewhere, somehow. Wish you well my friend… ๐Ÿ™‚✌๐Ÿผ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

  8. Not only will I miss your inspirational prompts, my muse will too! I ran a weekly challenge from 2009 to 2013 called Carry On Tuesday and I know it can be a bit of a burden! Thank you, Carrie.

If someone else takes on the baton I will undertake to provide the pics....Illustrated poems are my favourite.....I used to have a prompt site years ago POW but I have no aptitude for the technical side of things....Just a thought !......RALL

  10. Carrie, Thank You -- We don't say that often enough.
The others have said it all, we love you and your work here.
I have enjoyed so very much working with and for you
You, Chrissa and Shay have built a great place to exchange
works and for me, "Learn". I loved reading poetry in school and
wrote a few verses for fun. But no formal training. I found a book,
Ted Kooser's "The Poetry Home Repair Manual" that I studied and
practiced on my readers here. I stopped at "Prose Poetry" but I
need to finish that, I'm not good at all. The Book, $ 5.00, Postage paid,

  11. Carrie, please accept my humble thanks also.

I started running a prompt just over one year ago, and I too know how much effort it requires... You provided many people with a lot of much appreciated inspiration for a very long time ~ thank you!

    2. Carrie ~ mine is a bit unusual because it's a "community" poetry prompt, meaning that a different member of the community leads it every week, and every person who hosts it get to select the next person to host it...

So it's not really "mine" per se ~ it's just that I post it.

      Much love,
      David

  14. Oh Carrie, that is so very sad.
Is there none who wants to take over? I would.. with someone else to back up for the few times a year I am away. Or maybe I can post in advance in those weeks.

It's so sad to miss this... even though I can't always manage to be in time.
We won't only miss the prompt, but also the contact between each other.

So if I can do something...

Unless you want it to stop completely... as it is your thing.

Thank you very much for all the interesting, beautiful, inspirational, etc etc images from everywhere!
I have enjoyed being part of this and I have learned a lot.
Reading the contributions of others has enriched me.

    Please stay in touch.

    Big hugs!!!!!!

  17. Carrie, you have worked very hard over the years to maintain a very creative and inviting site. I haven't been writing poetry to share for a while, but I definitely know all of the work that goes into a poetry site week after week. I know many will miss you and the site. Blessings to you, and best of luck!
