I like this, Carrie. Rob calls his simple, basically he wrote the beginning of the unwritten "Teacher's Creed". I was thinking of the old, once popular song, "The old lamplighter (he makes the night a little brighter, . . .)." Also of our evening walking tour given by a lamplighter in Rothenburg on der Tauber, Germany. Today I've become very old, almost elderly, My mother died at my new age. Thank you again, Carrie. I'll go back to sleep on it, perhaps my Muse will give me some hints and nudges in my dreams. ..
Good morning Carrie, thanks to you and Shay for another intriguing photo prompt. Our clocks go back tonight, so the nights will creep in even quicker. Bring out the lanterns!
Hmmm, I drink my coffee black, still have 15 lbs extra baggage, and it takes at least two cups to really see anything sunshine (possibly because I don't put any moonshine in). Causation or correlation? Hmmm...
What a lovely pic! I am vacationing for a month now at my parents place in Goa,India. Not able to read or comment on the amazing poems of fellow poets. I didn't want to miss the weekend posts so has been just downloading the image and writing a few lines related to it.
Hi Carrie! First-timer here, and thought I'd do a tanka for the great photo! The sun's peeking out. I wonder if we'll see any trick or treaters out tonight. Not an awful lot theses days. pax, dora

ReplyDeleteAh, no, just the sun reflecting off the bottom
of my coffee cup.
Sun, you have sun?
DeleteThere is always sunlight in the coffee!
DeleteGood thing you don't drink it black Qbit! I always have to have cream in mine....probably accounts for 15 pounds of extra baggage for me. LOL
Delete*meant "sunshine" although sometimes there is moonshine in the coffee too!
DeleteMoonshine works too :-))
