Where a picture really does speak a thousand words.
Here is a little something to light the way to words. I look forward to seeing where this leads you.
Have fun everyone & Happy Halloween!
Great photo Carrie. This Sunday I decided to just put it simply. Happy Dia de los Muertos! 💀✌🏼❤️
So glad you like it Rob! I will be by to read it once I get mine sorted out. Have not started yet. LOL Happy Dia de Los Muertos to you as well. 💀👻🤩
I like this, Carrie. Rob calls his simple, basically he wrote the beginning of the unwritten "Teacher's Creed". I was thinking of the old, once popular song, "The old lamplighter (he makes the night a little brighter, . . .)." Also of our evening walking tour given by a lamplighter in Rothenburg on der Tauber, Germany.Today I've become very old, almost elderly, My mother died at my new age. Thank you again, Carrie. I'll go back to sleep on it, perhaps my Muse will give me some hints and nudges in my dreams...
I love that Jim. Glad you both like it...Shay played a big part in the choosing this week. Get some rest and I will see you later toy. 😊
The Old Lamplighter .. brings back so many memories. I love the song, it has a way of drawing tears.
Helen, I always get that one crossed with The Little Shack Out Back!
I will have to make a point of listening to it, when I have some tissues.
Morning Musers! Happy weekend to you all! 👻🤩🎉🤗
Good morning Carrie, thanks to you and Shay for another intriguing photo prompt. Our clocks go back tonight, so the nights will creep in even quicker. Bring out the lanterns!
You are very welcome my friend! So glad to see you! Wishing you warmth and lanterns and poetry upon your page.
Mornin' all ... our phone rang at 4:36 this morning. Safeway Supermarket needed son Carl to fill in for an ill co-worker. And the day began ....
Well, you will have to work a nap into your day my friend! I look forward to reading your writing Helen!
Love the pic, Carrie and accomplice. ;) Will see if I can find some words.
I am so glad you love it Joy, and I know my amazing accomplice is as well!! Looking forward to reading your poetry!
Thanks, dear Carrie. And I yours. I'll be around later in the weekend to read and comment, as usual.
You are very welcome and thank you. You made my Sunday even brighter Joy. ✍️🦋
Is that light at the end of the tunnel?Ah, no, just the sun reflecting off the bottomof my coffee cup.
Sun, you have sun?
There is always sunlight in the coffee!
Good thing you don't drink it black Qbit! I always have to have cream in mine....probably accounts for 15 pounds of extra baggage for me. LOL
*meant "sunshine" although sometimes there is moonshine in the coffee too!
Moonshine works too :-))
Hmmm, I drink my coffee black, still have 15 lbs extra baggage, and it takes at least two cups to really see anything sunshine (possibly because I don't put any moonshine in). Causation or correlation? Hmmm...

.....so that is where all my ducks went.....
I hear quacking from somewhere deep in the quantum void.
Good that means there must be a quack of light at the end of the tunnel!
What a lovely pic! I am vacationing for a month now at my parents place in Goa,India. Not able to read or comment on the amazing poems of fellow poets. I didn't want to miss the weekend posts so has been just downloading the image and writing a few lines related to it.
So glad you still joined in Sunita! Enjoy your vacation. I am heading to read everyone's writing now.
Hi Carrie! First-timer here, and thought I'd do a tanka for the great photo! The sun's peeking out. I wonder if we'll see any trick or treaters out tonight. Not an awful lot theses days. pax, dora
Hi Dora! I am delighted you are here....welcome! I look forward to reading your tanka! We had no trick or treaters last year, so this year should be interesting. Happy Halloween Dora!

I am delighted you did Truedessa! I enjoyed your poem very much!
Carrie, thank you for fixing my link. Don't understand why I'm having problems, have always linked ok in the past. But, I will make sure to follow your instructions. Thanks again.

Late (hopefully fashionably) to this prompt party!
It was worth the wait JYP! A lovely poem indeed!
Has anyone been able to read 'Psyche's post? I don't seem able to get the link to work.
I couldn't get to that blog either. I think it is set for invites readers only..that may be the problem.
