Sunday Muse #204

Good morning Musers! So glad you are here! This week I have a theme growing and you have some options within the blooms of it.

~Sunflowers~

The sunflower is more than Ukraine’s national flower it has quickly become an international symbol of peace and solidarity for the Ukrainian people since the Russian invasion began.

In the U.S. it is the first week of Spring, and I thought it would be fitting to feature this flower that truly holds a power that moves the heart.

Enjoy the writing journey my friends!

💛 Carrie

  3. I love sunflowers! Always have. Endless poems about Ukraine not so much--topical poems are hard to do well and not sound prosey. Love the top pic and the dog one!

    1. Me too, and I do see what you mean about the struggle with topical poems, but I felt led to go with it, and of course people can go any direction in the sunflower field they choose. I look forward to reading yours my friend!

  9. I adore sunflowers, and often visit the fields here when they are in full bloom. They are glorious to stroll through and gaze upon their yellow and orange hues.
