  2. The wind scrubs the windows
with steel wool torn from SOS skies

    stripping what we told ourselves
    was silvering, the lining

of clouds we said were mirrors
    of hopefulness

    to see ourselves clothed
    in this rain

    instead of winter
    now two sizes

    too small

    1. A "Brillo" pad of words
my windows today are scrubbed clean
to sunshine and the songs of birds
      tomorrow could be cloudy again
and who knows what I might pen

    3. Trudessa -- so glad. Cleared up a bit here too! But now I don't have glum poem material to scrub.

    2. There is also failing miserably at poem #2. I'm still hacking at it, but aweful.

  5. Excellent prompt photo find, Carrie. The single tree caught me first. Then in order I found a large man's or monster's hand, the ceramic mask on the dresser, and finally it was a dresser and not a hallway table. I missed more I'm sure, mostly I find what I want to see.
I found most of these before I wrote, good. One excuse for missing things is that my computer has been broken since last September, bad. I'll take it to Fry's, maybe, when Houston is safer from COVID 19.

    1. Accidentally deleted your comment ... agree, way too much emphasis on external beauty which is fleeting. In a tizzy right now .. my former husband who has remained special in my life and who has a wife I love ~~ her 28 year old niece was murdered in a Minneapolis suburb ... husband in custody. A tragic situation for everyone who loved and cherished her.

    2. That has to have been a tragedy for the whole family but what a blessing that you are close with your former husband and his new wife. You have a big beautiful heart Helen!

  11. This photo had my mind wandering in many directions but, in the end the tree is the heart that beats within the frames of life.

  14. Amazing photo/art. I'll be back to feast on the poetry it inspired. I admit I took an easy route today, but the rhyme simply would not go away.
