Happy January! We just came in from running around the backyard in shorts and t-shirts...because snow is pretty much mythical in this part of Texas (not impossible, but nice and once-upon-a-time) and that's just what I wanted for this week's Muse. Several people in my life are looking at new paths and I find myself thinking about this as well. Myths are often the record or beginning of journeys and thus: trackless snow and a rising (?) sun.  Is this an invitation? A benediction? A lure?

Greets, dear Musers, it's me, Fireblossom, your prodigal girl. I haven't written anything in weeks and it's about time to change that. You with me???

I think the general mood, with all the insanity going on in the world, has been difficult and down, so let's back up and change it up, what do you think?

This week you get a choice. We are looking back at old Hollywood and a make-believe world that nevertheless lifts our spirits and touches our hearts. You can write for the image (Tracey Powers as Mary Pickford) or you can go completely off the deep end and use the video I'm providing. At the least, watch it to catch the mood! Happy writing!

We're on the edge of a new year and while you may know my preference for schemes over resolutions, maybe there are other ways to organize those things we hope for, those things we'll miss, and those things we are sure we don't see coming than either schemes or resolutions. I hope that this is a good space for exploring the pauses. How will the in-between poems turn out?
