(Abandoned in an old forgotten villa in France)
Welcome Musers! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! I have always been fascinated by abandoned photography; the capturing of the forgotten and left behind. It speaks so much of the tragedies of life and tells stories that fill the empty places. I hope this one speaks to you as well.

DeleteI just could not pass this up!
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you are here Charley!
DeleteLove the image.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Susie, so do I.
DeleteBeautiful prompt image Carrie — so much soul! It put me in mind of a pianist who played for me in my band for more than a decade. The entire picture resembles a familiar scene of a piano, that sat in the atrium, at the bottom of the staircase, in of our big old Victorian house. It was located in the former upscale but aging Walnut Hills area of Cincinnati. It looked down right onto the city. DaVied would play it frequently. He has sadly passed on, and I wrote the early draft of this piece a few years ago to honor him. He was a fantasy freak! This prompt encouraged me to dig out that draft, and finish the piece and post a link to it. DaVied man was a dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Rob. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, even if it was years ago. I know how wounds like that never truly heal.
DeleteI am so very broken hearted. Please tolerate my homage to my lil’ Edgrrr - R.I.P.
DeleteReally cool prompt!
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend, I am glad you like it. :-)
DeleteJust to avoid any confusion later......I did a boo boo on the credit, and I am going to edit the post real fast. Thank you to Helen for being so curious, observant, and amazing.
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie- I love this photo! I'm always drawn to abandoned photography as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda I am glad the image drew you here to the Muse today.
DeleteBeautiful.. This one feels like a freshly dug treasure!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kenyanito! Your comment is poetry in itself!
DeleteThank you Carrie. Stay awesome..
DeleteThis photo was a tease to me, a good choice, Carrie. I didn't write in the shadow of my blind grandfather's demise. Nor any of my BIL's piano tuner and repair adventures. Instead it was of a continuing childhood romp. That I covered over so my writing did not appear to be personal.
ReplyDelete..
You should have just made it personal.... Either way, I loved the take.
DeleteI am glad you shared this Jim. It makes me love the poem even more.
DeleteHappy Sunday, i am already inspired
ReplyDeletemuch💓love
Happy Sunday to you too my friend! Glad the image is inspiring your beautiful poetry!
DeleteI did not think I'd have time to write anything today, but the photo prompt was too intriguing to miss - thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Laura! We are delighted you joined us this week!
DeleteThis photo speaks to me of loss and abandonment, feeling blue lately.
ReplyDeleteAbandoned things can stir up those feelings. I do hope you get to feeling better Truedessa my friend.
DeleteSuch a beautiful and sad picture. It brought to mind haunted nights and old folklore, so that's where I went.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it RedCat and I am looking forward to reading yours.
DeleteMajorly under the weather yesterday and thru the night .... better today! Happy Sunday everyone!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are here Helen and even happier you are feeling better.
